She is an avid advocate for harm reduction and health policy through her research and advocacy work over the past 8 years. She lived in a minivan after completing her MPH for 5 months. She traveled to 34 national parks across the U.S. and 12 in Canada. She is an avid hiker, skier, surfer, and disc golfer.

Park Acadia National Park Along the rugged coastline of Maine, this gem of the Northeast offers ocean shoreline, coastal forests, remote islands, rocky mountains and historic lighthouses. With 45 miles of historic carriage roads to bike and 125 miles of trails to hike, Acadia is a premier destination for the adventurous and outdoorsy. Among the park’s granite peaks is Cadillac Mountain, which at 1,530 feet stands as the tallest mountain on the Atlantic coast.

Park Effigy Mounds National Monument Effigy mounds are raised piles of earth shaped like animals and other symbols, often used as burial grounds. This national monument preserves more than 200 such prehistoric mounds created by American Indians living in northeast Iowa's Upper Mississippi River Valley. These sacred and ceremonial sites most frequently take the forms of birds and bears, though some are also shaped like turtles, panthers, bison, deer and other animals.
